Education Research Assistant - Field Data Collector

Job Description

SRI International is seeking temporary, part-time data collectors to assist with data collection activities in the Nashville area. The applicant should have experience conducting research and/or working with children in elementary school settings.

Position responsibilities:
Attend training session in March 2020 in Nashville, TN to prepare for job responsibilities.
Work with project leads to train and certify on assessments.
Communicate with SRI Field Coordinator to schedule data collection activities.
Conduct child assessments from April through May 2020
Enter data collection updates in a web-based database
Communicate with SRI Field Coordinator to return completed assessments


The ideal candidate will have some undergraduate coursework in psychology, education, social work or early childhood.
Applicants should have strong organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working with children (e.g., as a teacher or assistant teacher in an elementary school, conducting assessments with children, working in afterschool programs, etc.) is required, and experience with research is a plus.
Access to a car is needed, as data collectors are expected to drive to participating schools.
Applicants should have access to a computer and reliable internet.
Applicants with proficiency or fluency in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be willing to complete all security measures required by the study.

The position will require availability from March 2020 through May 2020. The position is estimated to require 5-10 hours per week in March and 15 hours per week from April through May. Applicants should have morning availability (8am-2pm) at least three days a week, Monday through Friday. The position may continue through the 2020-21 school year.
