Plant Supervisor

Position Description

Plant Supervisor

A leading manufacturer/distributor in the building products space is seeking an experience plant management role. This position will oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensure all orders are completed by scheduled dates, track inventory accuracy, and assist the Plant Manager in establishing a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

Manages all production and maintenance operations
Achieve production targets, product quality requirements, internal performance goals and customer delivery objectives
Responsible for scheduling of manpower -- coordinates and directs work priorities
Teams with production planning and reports any due date discrepancies to the Plant Manager
Actively seeks and makes suggestions for improvements in Plant operations, cost reduction, efficiency, etc.
Ensures that all plant associates meet and abide by all applicable Government and company regulations and policies
Ensures all associates follow safety rules and practices
Responsible for the security and housekeeping of buildings and grounds
Direct and monitor on-site outside contractor activities in the maintenance and repair of all plant, equipment, tools and grounds
Responsible for training for production and maintenance personnel. Ensures that all positions are cross-trained for maximum efficiency
Responsible for progressive disciplinary process and ensures a productive labor climate
Completes annual performance reviews of plant associates


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
5+ years in production operations with at least 3+ years of supervisory experience
Ability to organize and prioritize workload and ability to meet deadlines
Familiar with chemical coating process a plus
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and quality systems
Demonstrated leadership abilities, positive mental attitude, sense of urgency, strong customer service orientation
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal & written)
